Updated Thursday August 3, 2017 by Leopard Lacrosse.

Lovejoy Lacrosse is excited to announce the hiring of Edward Hodgson as the newest member of the Lovejoy Lacrosse coaching staff. Edward will be an Assistant Coach of our boys’ High School Varsity team. Originally from Long Island, New York, Edward brings nearly 20 years of lacrosse experience as a player, coach, and program administrator to Lovejoy.

“To be involved with the process of helping to develop the Lovejoy Lacrosse program allows me to put to use all that I have learned from living in such a rich lacrosse-driven region,” said Edward. “So far everyone I have met or spoken with from Lovejoy are all great people, with similar ideas and outlooks on the lacrosse program. Having a great supporting administration and community that are so easy to communicate and coordinate with allows for the perfect foundation for a successful program.”

Edward began playing lacrosse in the 3rd grade. Since then he has been actively involved in several aspects of the game, from the youth level to the high school and college levels. Edward has not only played and coached the game, but has also served as a camp program director at the high school level and as a program administrator for the East Stroudsburg University Warriors Men’s Lacrosse program. With a degree in education, Edward will be a tremendous addition to the Lovejoy Lacrosse coaching staff as a coach and an educator.

“I am looking forward to developing the skills and knowledge of the players,” said Edward. “Knowing the potential for the sport in Texas, as well as the level of commitment of the Lovejoy players to continue to learn the game, motivates me to be the best coach I can be for the Lovejoy program in order to help make Lovejoy Lacrosse the best it can be.”

Edward will be coaching alongside his brother, Andrew, on the Lovejoy coaching staff.

“Ever since my brother and I started playing lacrosse, we have always done everything lacrosse oriented together. We played on the same teams. We got the same equipment. We hung around the same group of lacrosse people. Now we get to coach side by side at Lovejoy and get to utilize all we have learned in order to create a successful team and fulfill our dream of coaching our own team together. My brother and I have a vision of what Lovejoy Lacrosse can be and together we hope to achieve that greatness.”
