Jairus Pascale is the Head Coach of the Lovejoy Leopards Junior Division 5th/6th Black team. Jairus has more than 5 years of lacrosse experience as a player and coach. Jairus grew up in Allen, Texas. He attended Biola University in La Mirada, California, where he received his B.S. in Kinesiology and B.A. in Philosophy. Jairus joined the Lovejoy Leopard Lacrosse program in the Fall of 2013.
Jairus was one of the founding members of the Biola University Eagles men’s lacrosse team. Jairus was a starting Defenseman every year he played and excelled as a one-on-one defender. In his first season with the team, Jairus was named team defensive captain. He was also honored with the “Authority Award,” given to the player with the most extensive knowledge of the game and on-and-off the field conditioning and strategy. During his first and second season, Jairus’ lacrosse team was awarded the “Spirit Award” by the Western Collegiate Lacrosse League as being the Most Sportsmanlike team.
When an injury prevented him from playing during the 2002-2003 season, Jairus stepped up and helped coach the Biola University men’s lacrosse team. In 2005-2006, after graduating, Jairus was hired by Biola University as an Adjunct Instructor in the Kinesiology Department to teach lacrosse classes to beginning and advanced students.
In addition to coaching at Biola University, Jairus provided individual private lacrosse lessons to college students that focused on one-on-one defensive strategy and lacrosse conditioning training. During his time at Biola, Jairus also used lacrosse as a method in reaching out to inner-city and underprivileged students in the city of Compton.
