Craig Friesland is the Head Coach for the Lovejoy Leopards 3rd/4th Black and 5th/6th Black teams. Craig joined the Lovejoy Leopards Lacrosse coaching staff in the Spring of 2013. Craig is a U.S. Lacrosse Level 2 Certified Coach. Craig has coached 1st/2nd teams, 3rd/4th teams, and 5th/6th teams for Lovejoy Lacrosse.
Craig is originally from Amarillo, Texas. In high school, Craig was a four-sport athlete playing football, basketball, golf, and running cross country. After high school, Craig attended The University of Texas at Austin, where he received his B.B.A. in Finance. He then attended law school at Baylor University School of Law, earning his both his J.D. and M.B.A. degrees.
Craig and his family live in Lucas. His sons have been a part of the Lovejoy Leopards Lacrosse program for six years. His son, Major, plays Attack for the High School team, his son Colt, plays Midfielder for the Junior Division – 5th/6th grade team; and his son, Paxton, plays Midfielder for the Bantam Division – 3rd/4th grade team. Craig started coaching various sports in college, and has over 25 years of coaching experience. In addition to coaching lacrosse, Craig has been a head or assistant Coach for both boys' and girls’ basketball teams, boys’ football teams, boys’ baseball teams, and girls’ softball teams, co-ed volleyball teams, and co-ed softball teams.
Craig is passionate about coaching youth sports and stresses having fun and while getting better every practice.
