Players of the Week - Girls' Junior Division (5th/6th Team)

Updated Thursday November 9, 2017 by Lovejoy Leopards Lacrosse.

ENTIRE 5th/6th GRADE TEAM (weeks of October 21-22 and November 4-5, 2017)

Congratulations to our 5th/6th grade Lady Leopards team. On October 21-22, they competed in the Turlaxin Tournament. During the tournament, they finished with a 2-2 record with impressive wins over ESD and McKinney, and playing McKinney with no subs on the bench! The 5th/6th Lady Leopards then finished out the season this past weekend (Nov. 4-5) with back-to-back wins over Rockwall and Frisco Fury; again having to play Frisco Fury with no subs on the bench!

All of their hard work in practice has paid off. The entire team has improved on their passing, catching, groundball, defensive, and communication skills. Last Spring, in their inaugural season, the 5th/6th grade Lady Leopards team didn’t win a single game, going 0-10. This Fall they finished the season with a 7-3-1 record. Great to see so much improvement in such a short time!

CLAIRE DIAZ (week of January 2, 2017)

On November 13, 2016, history was made as Claire Diaz became the first ever girl to sign up to play lacrosse for the Lady Leopards program! To date, Claire has been followed by more than 35 other Lovejoy girls to become a part of the inaugural 2017 Spring season. The Lady Leopards lacrosse program is shaping up nicely. We're all looking forward to a great season!
