Shannon Parengkuan is the Lady Leopards Program Director and Head Coach of the Lovejoy Leopards Junior Division – 5th/6th and 7th/8th grade teams. She has more than 24 years of lacrosse experience as a player and coach. Shannon began playing lacrosse at the age of twelve and has ten (10) years of lacrosse coaching experience at the youth, middle school and high school levels.

Shannon is originally from Babylon, New York. Shannon grew up playing lacrosse, basketball, and field hockey. In high school, Shannon received the UnSung Hero Award for Section XI. After high school, Shannon attended Towson University in Maryland, where she received a B.S. in Physical Education / Teacher Education. While at Towson, Shannon played lacrosse for the Towson Tigers Lady Lacrosse club team. Shannon is currently a Physical Education coach at the Imagine International Academy of North Texas

In 2007, Shannon started her coaching career in New York, where she was the Head Coach of the Babylon Junior High field hockey and basketball teams. Shannon continued her coaching career in New York before moving to Texas. In 2008, she was the Head Coach of the Junior Varsity lacrosse team at Shoreham-Wading River High School. In 2009, she was an Assistant Coach of the Varsity lacrosse team at Babylon High School. Shannon then moved to Texas, where she continued her coaching career. From 2012-2014, Shannon was the Head Coach of the Allen Lady Eagles Varsity lacrosse team.

While a coach in New York, Shannon’s teams won multiple New York State awards, such as the Section XI team sportsmanship award and received Academic Honors. Shannon has also developed and coached at Summer lacrosse camps for North Texas lacrosse players and has organized grants for various Physical Education departments through U.S. Lacrosse.
